It's hard to nail down what it is about this place that
intrigues me so much. Initially, I was captivated
by the language then increasingly its politics and now I
am trying to understand how they all fit together into
what is one of the world's most complex histories.
Sadly though, just when you think you are starting to
get it, China changes transforms itself yet again and
you're basically right back where you started.
