The Congo River
Ben was gracious enough to take a day off of work to head out onto the river with me for a few hours of zipping around on a motorboat.  Even though we just went out for a couple of hours, the excursion cost over $200 -- a truly amazing amount for a country as poor as the Congo.  Nonetheless, the experience was worth every penny.

Old tugboats

Brazzaville

Looking pissed off

A mile wide river

Under a hot sun

Working on the river

Still as ice

Living on the river

Flying the flag

Poverty on the river

""Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."

"I want to thank the astronauts who are with us, the courageous spacial entrepreneurs who set such a wonderful example for the young of our country."

"Had we to do it over again, we would look at the consequences of catastrophic success, being so successful so fast that an enemy that should have surrendered or been done in escaped and lived to fight another day."
