Kinshasa, Democratic Republic
of Congo
Thanksgiving 2005 will go down as one of my most
memorable holidays ever. Believe it or not, I
managed to have a pretty decent Turkey, cranberry sauce
and wine in the
Congolese capital Kinshasa
when I visited Ben. Ben was living there while on
assignment for the US aid agency
PSI. It
was such a treat to visit him and get my first
exposure to sub-Saharan Africa.

"I want to thank the astronauts who are with us,
the courageous spacial entrepreneurs who set such a wonderful example for the

"Had we to do it over again, we would look at the
consequences of catastrophic success, being so successful so fast that an enemy
that should have surrendered or been done in escaped and lived to fight another
day."
