Around Shanghai, China 2005
I went to Shanghai in the early Summer of of 2005 as part of a work trip and had a bit of time on the side to explore the city and the stunningly profound transformation it's undergone since my first visit back in 1993.  I really do feel privileged to have had the opportunity to see firsthand how this city has morphed from a backwards Communist mess to a world class metropolis.

""Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."

"I want to thank the astronauts who are with us, the courageous spacial entrepreneurs who set such a wonderful example for the young of our country."

"Had we to do it over again, we would look at the consequences of catastrophic success, being so successful so fast that an enemy that should have surrendered or been done in escaped and lived to fight another day."
