Shanghai, China 1994
It is hard to overstate the importance of Tiananmen
Square as the preeminent Chinese landmark. It is
the symbolic "center" of China where everyone from Mao
Zedong to Wuerkaixi have taken a stand in the name of
China. Today, it is far less political.
Throngs of tourists visit the square while locals come
to fly kites and play with their kids.
